Gregory R. Byrnes is executive vice president of business development and marketing for Tactix Real Estate Advisors, LLC.

Prior to joining Tactix in August 2006, Greg spearheaded the region’s national and international corporate attraction efforts as director of economic and business development for PECO Energy, An Exelon Co. In that role, he was responsible for marketing the Philadelphia region's assets and attracting new business to the corporation's service area in southeastern Pennsylvania.

During his tenure at PECO, Greg’s economic development team received numerous national, regional and local awards and recognition for its marketing initiatives and success in attracting companies to the greater Philadelphian region.

Earlier this year, he served as chairman of CoreNet Global’s Philadelphia Summit and published the magazine, “Greater Philadelphia: Building A Better Business Climate”. The highly praised magazine detailed the region’s real estate and business assets. Greg also assisted the Chester County Economic Development Council and Penn State in the creation of a state approved Knowledge Industry Zone that will provide business services to 150 life science and IT firms.

Greg joined PECO in 1991 after serving five years as executive vice president and president of the Philadelphia Development Alliance, a consortium of 21 real estate development firms, commercial brokerages and utilities. As PDA's president, he led the development community's efforts to attract new business to the City of Philadelphia.

Greg serves on the board of directors of the Eastern Technology Council and the Chester County Development Council. He serves as chairman of CoreNet Global’s Greater Philadelphia chapter and until recently was on the national board of the 7,500 member international real estate organization. He previously served on the national board of the 3,600 member International Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives (NACORE). Greg was the only economic development professional ever elected to NACORE’s board.

Until recently, he also was a long-time member of the Team Pennsylvania Foundation and served as a Pennsylvania Ambassador.  He also served on the board of the Philadelphia Workforce Development Corp. and the Utility Economic Development Association. Greg is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC) and Pennsylvania BIO. A former board member of the International Development Research Council’s Philadelphia chapter, he served as chairman of IDRC’s Philadelphia World Congress in 1996.

Prior to his work with PDA, he spent eight years as a reporter, bureau chief and assignment editor with The Philadelphia Inquirer. As a reporter, Greg wrote extensively about the region’s real estate, economic development and hospitality industries.
